And I continue my series on Everything Coconut Oil!
Bentonite Clay Toothpaste has been a new great discovery for me. My previous recipe (my sister posted here) we had been using for the last year and a half, has been wonderful and so much better than what is sold in stores, but I was drawn to the neat aspects that bentonite clay has to offer.
Bentonite Clay is found to pull the bad bacterias and decay out of the teeth. My source Paleo Momma, said she healed six of her cavities using her remineralizing toothpaste.
She uses organic Stevia to help make it sweet. Since we are not too fond of the flavor of Stevia, I left it out in the recipe making, but I’ll include it in the ingredient list if you would like to use it.
My little one Winston loves this toothpaste so much better than I previous one! Yay for me!
Benjamin has been suffering from a bad tooth and instead of spending a fortune at the dentist, has decided to switch over to healing his tooth a natural way, mainly by his diet. So far so good. And the toothpaste is helping! I’ll keep you updated with his teeth.
Pour your 1/4 cup hot water into a bowl.
Stir in 1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil.

On this step you could also add the essential oils in with the water and oil rather than at the end like I did in my pictures.
Add the 1/3 cup of Bentonite Clay to the hot water and oil mixture.
In the Paleo Mommma’s recipe she suggested to use a hand held mixer to blend it all smooth. I tried it, but had more of a mess hehe. So after a few more tries, I just ended up using a spoon. It worked fine.
The picture below did turn out nice though 
Stir the clay until everything is smooth and well combined.
Mix in the 1/4 teaspoon of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt.
I added my essential oils at this point, but you can do it early on with the water and coconut oil.
Scoop into a pretty jar
Make sure you can cover it securely with a lid.
It feels nice in the mouth, it has a creamy texture when brushing and gives an overall satisfaction that the teeth are cleaned and shiny.

1/4 Cup Boiling Water
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
15 Drops Thieves Oil
10 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
1/3 Cup of Bentonite Clay
1/4 Teaspoon Real Salt
*Optional* 1/2 Teaspoon Real Stevia
Pour bowling water into a bowl, mix in Coconut Oil and Essential Oils and stir together. Add Bentonite Clay, Salt and Stevia to water mixture and combine with spoon until the clay like texture is smoothed and well mixed. Store in jar with a sealable lid.
